Busy

So in the last bit I've been out of town and it was great! I headed to Anchorage for a conference and had a blast! There was plenty of shopping and networking and eating! Plus I went on my first dog sled ride and fell in love with a dog breed. They are called Mackenzie River Huskies! And they're amazing! They're larger than a normal husky but so sweet and mellow! News, news and news!

I'm WAY excited!! Not only do I head to Anchorage in two weeks BUT we have tons of stuff going on here as well! Kivgik (sp) starts the week of the 9th (it's HUGE, I'll explain more later!) But I just found out about the Co-Ed Hockey Tournament in Anchorage April 23rd to 26th...so COME JOIN US!! It'll be fun!

Plus I'm trying to make summer plans..at this point it looks like I'm traveling so let me know your schedules and I'll see what I can do!!

And for the first time since I've been in Barrow I was able to see the NORTHERN LIGHTS tonight!! We drove out by the beach and it looked like it was touching the Arctic ocean! It was amazing!

Ok so it was brought to my attention that I have not updated my blog in awhile...my bad! So I'm adding pictures and all that good stuff over the next few days! I spent half of the holiday break in Michigan and half in Virginia. After having one of the worst flight experiences EVER (did I mention we DROVE from Minneapolis to Michigan????) Everything worked out in the end! So no complaints! Ok maybe 1...I think I might have frostbite on my ear...it's something about walking outside when the windchill is 51 BELOW 0!! Oh well enjoy the pics! I'll add more soon!!

It's December!!!

So I can't believe it's December already! Life has been busy! This weekend we had Wrestling Regionals here in Barrow (I scored so I got to see like ALL the action!) Plus we did a surprise birthday party and she REALLY had no idea! It was awesome! Overall things just keep getting busier! Next weekend I'm in Anchorage for a doctor's appointment and then on the 20th I fly to Michigan! I'm totally amazed that the year has gone that fast already!

I do have some sad news as our principal, who has been one of the best bosses I've ever had, has resigned for personal reasons. I'm sad, the staff is sad but we'll get through it as we always do!

Now more good news...I'm back to playing hockey and scored my first goal on Wednesday! It was awesome! And I'm totally stocked to be playing again! My tailbone is still messed up but I'm over it and am moving on with the world! Hope all is well and the holidays bring lots of sweet treats!

Wow, we have three weeks to go and school is half way over for the year! That just amazes me! Ok so I have a TON of pics to add but here are just a few...one is me in the car getting ready to go see a whale (I was a BIT excited!) The others are of me in a parka of one of my friends...she's obviously a LOT taller than I am. But this is a type of parka that most of the people here have as it has real fur and is INCREDIBLY warm (and yes Mom if I stay I'll be asking for one but I'll bring you the fur and fabric! LOL) It's amazing! The furs on this parka are polar bear and wolverine. I'm just amazed at the work and so forth in it!

Well I've been a slacker for awhile and therefore I haven't updated in awhile either! So here's some pics from Halloween and then from the day we put the lines in the ice! Life is good but crazy I'm playing hockey...and since Isaac Newton interfered it's been a bit sore! Oh well...life goes on! Enjoy the last full week before Thanksgiving!
