Week 1

So the first week of school is done and I'm exhausted! Between still unpacking stuff (by the way my groceries came and I ROCK! Especially when I remembered a bunch of stuff that I can't believe I remembered!)
Anyway, the one thing that keeps making me laugh is that we are getting e-mails about the Polar Bears in the area and that we need to be careful! Ok the only reason I think it's funny is because it doesn't seem real! But it is, a jogger was attacked but was saved by someone driving by! It's actually a serious problem in the area but that's ok as long as we're careful it's all good!
I live in a building called the "12 plex" which is awesome. I'm really close to the store and the library so I'm thrilled!! I get to walk to work everyday and it's beautiful...I'm only getting confused sometimes when I wake up as it's only dark from like midnight until like 4 am right now...and that's a bit confusing! I do have a couple of pictures but hopefully I'll get more soon!
A couple of the pictures are from the football game last weekend (and yes we won, and the boys won last night...against the 2nd place team!) So right now we're 3-0 and it's awesome! There's a new book out about Barrow and Mark Voss (the head football coach) called "Thunder on the Tundra" it's supposed to be pretty good and they may be making a movie out of it!
Anyway, I have work to do so I'm going to run! But enjoy the couple of the pictures I've got and I'll get more soon!

Go Whalers!!

Aunt Kate

So for those of you who don't know....Aunt Kate died yesterday (July 30th) at about 2:15 pm. She had struggled with the pancreatic cancer for the last few months and her time had come. There will be a service for her in Virginia on Saturday at 11 am. It's tough...it sucks but we all know life goes on. And as my cousin said, when he was 5, "it's part of the cicle of life". So I believe we should celebrate her life and ours!

Studying...

Well I'm finally getting around to studying for the classes I signed up for this summer...and am realizing how much work I have to do! But it's interesting as it's all on Alaska and the combination of land, work and people. It just makes you think about the decisions people make and how they are able to impact generations. But on to the information I went to turn in some of the work and realize that I was not registered therefore I get to slack for another day until they get my online info together! But wish me luck!!

Some more pics....

Well...

Ok what can I say I'm the ultimate slacker about keeping this updated this summer! But between graduation parties...traveling and the beach it's been hard. Therefore I am putting up a slide show of the pics I've taken so ya'll can see how busy we've been! Last week I spent the week in Nags Head hanging out on the beach with Julie and Meghan. We were able to hang out with Keith too! I can't believe I head back north in two weeks! It's just been flying by but it's been a blast! Enjoy the pics!
